The exhibition showcases the finalists of the competition. It also includes presentations of all 363 submissions received. The winner will be announced in Kiasma on 10 March 2016. The audience can also vote for their favourite.

Edith Karlson’s installation called Vox Populi at the City Gallery that is comprised of more than 100 animal figures and rabbit droppings speaks about participating with acquiescent calm in the eternal circle of eating and being eaten.

Taking place at 45 Avenue d'Iéna, situated between the Palais de Tokyo and the Arc de Triomphe, Paris Internationale will occur from Tuesday, October 20th to Saturday, October 24th.

Last month, the artist took part in EDVARD-MUNCH-HAUS residency in Warnemünde, where Eduard Munch lived and worked during 1907-8. Toomik's video “Dancing Home” (1995) will be shown at the Baltic Biennial in Szczezin 2015, taking place from the 4th of December 2015 until the 14th of February 2016. His video “Father and Son” (1998) is on view at Louis Vuitton Foundation through October 2015. Toomik’s film “Landscape with Many Moons” (2014) will screen at INDIE International Festival, Sao-Paulo; Braunschweig International Film Festival; and Helsinki International Film Festival.

As part of Kanuti Gildi Saal’s 2015 SAAL Biennial, the artist together with Riina Maidre staged a performance entitled “House Music” in front of the Flo Kasearu House Museum building. During the 7th installment of Survival K(n)it festival in Riga, Kasearu will show works from her solo exhibition “Uprising” previously exhibited at Temnikova & Kasela gallery. The video from this exhibition will also be shown on the 15th of September at TOK, Saint Petersburg, as part of Kasearu’s new exhibition “Critical Mass”. The exhibition, running from the 4th of September until the 10th of October, will also feature two new airplane sculptures. “Holy Night”, a performance by Flo Kasearu, Oksana Tralla, Veronika Vallimäe, Marianne Männi and Riina Maidre, will be performed on the 9th of September as part of Estonian Theatre Festival.

"Whole Alone 2", 2015 installation and performance for Frieze NY

This year Temnikova & Kasela will represent Kris Lemsalu at Frieze New York art fair. The fair will take place from the 14th until the 17th of May at the Randall’s Island Park. Lemsalu recently took part in this year's Sequences VII real time art festival in Reykjavik, where she is showing a spatial installation entitled "Fine with afterlife”. The artist’s upcoming projects and exhibitions include a presentation at Glasstress, taking place during the Venice Biennale; an exhibition at Blackbridge offspace, Beijing, opening on the 22nd of June; and BMUKK residency in Tokyo starting in August 2015.

As part of the Whitechapel Gallery’s ongoing programme opening up public and private collections, the gallery presents four displays of the V-A-C collection selected in partnership with artists Mike Nelson, Fiona Banner, Lynette Yiadom-Boakye and James Richards. The project lasts from the 9th of September 2014 until the 30th of August this year. The exhibitions go on show in the Whitechapel Gallery’s Collections Gallery, each accompanied by a unique publication devised by the guest artist. As part of Lynette Yiadom-Boakye’s selection, Jaan Toomik’s “Dancing With Dad” (2003) will be shown next to works by Andy Warhol, Peter Doig and David Hockney. The exhibition, opened on the 17th of March, will remain on view until the 14th of June 2015.

Jaan Toomik’s recent film “Landscape With Many Moons” (2014) will participate in the competition programme of Bildrausch Filmfest Basel, Swizerland. The festival will take place from the 27th until the 31st of May2015.


Inga Meldere “Berzkalni” (2015)

Inga Meldere’s solo exhibition “Bērzkalni” opens at Galleria12, Helsinki, next month. The show will be open to public from the 16th of May until the 4th of June 2015. The artist will show new works - paintings and archival prints. Meldere will also take part in a group show at Careof, Milan, opening on the 9th of June. Organised by Italian curator Simone Manegoi and Latvian curator Zane Onckule, the exhibition will be a showcase of works by Latvian artists. Alongside Meldere's contribution the group show will include works by Krišs Salmanis, Ieva Rubeze, Ēriks Apaļais, Kaspars Groševs, Ieva Kraule, Darja Meļņikova.
