Flo Kasearu is taking part of the group exhibition "Soon enough: art in action", at Tensta Konsthall, Sweden, from February 7–April 29, 2018.
Soon enough: art in action is an exhibition about futures. It is inspired by the urgencies of our time, and a conviction that artistic practice can communicate complex problems and coordinate resistance. Some art works in the exhibition address the future directly, others point to phenomena, topics, skills or attitudes which will be more important in days to come. Self-organisation, craft and manual skills, play a certain role in the exhibition. So do collaborative methods, research-based practices, the rural, and cosmos. Media such as painting, sculpture, video, photography, performance and installation will be featured.
From February 21 to February 25, UUE – Estonian Contemporary (performance) Art Festival will take place in Kiasma, Helsinki.

As part of the Estonian pavilion Without Walls at Performa 17 Biennial, an hour-long short film program spans over two decades of works showing the presence of performance in Estonian contemporary art, as seen through the camera. The program touches on questions of identity, while demonstrating the inherent fragility in today’s social constructs and relationships. The program features works by Jaan Toomik, Ene-Liis Semper, Mark Raidpere, Marko Mäetamm, Marge Monko, and Taavi Talve among others.

As part of the Performa Consortium and the Pavilion Without Walls, Art in General will present an exhibition by Estonian artists Merike Estna and Maria Metsalu, curated by Maria Arusoo. Merike Estna’s new performance ‘Red Herring’ and Maria Metsalu’s ‘Mademoiselle X’ are part of ‘Soft Scrub, Hard Body, Liquid Presence’ exhibition. The exhibition posits if our over-consumption of virtual space has provoked a deep mutation in the psychosphere and explores the zombified body as a response to today’s evolving societal structures.

New York – Performa, the internationally acclaimed organization dedicated to live performance across disciplines, announces the Estonian Pavilion Without Walls for Performa 17, the seventh edition of the Performa Biennial, to take place November 1-19, 2017, at locations throughout New York City.
The Estonian Pavilion Without Walls features newly commissioned performances by Flo Kasearu, Anu Vahtra, and Kris Lemsalu who will collaborate with New York-based musician and artist Kyp Malone, Vahtra’s project is based on the legacy of the legendary artist Gordon Matta-Clark and his group Anarchitecture; Kasearu presents a site-specific performance in the Estonian House New York, exploring the past and future stories of this members-only club; and Lemsalu and Malone will conceive a durational performance with ceramic costumes, music, and video projections.

Estonian Pavilion Without Walls presents artists Flo Kasearu, Anu Vahtra, and Kris Lemsalu with a Performa Commission during Performa 17, the New York city wide biennial for contemporary performance taking place from November 1st through 19th. Curators/producers Esa Nickle and Maaike Gouwenberg along with the director of the biennial RoseLee Goldberg, have chosen the artists from a pool of 9 finalists.
Pavilion Without Walls: Estonia at the Performa Biennial is supported by the Estonian Ministry of Culture, Outset Estonia, and the Estonian Contemporary Art Development Center (ECADC).

On Septeber 29 at 6.30 PM, Merike Estna will open her solo exhibition "fragments from the shattered toe" at Kunstraum, London.
Merike Estna's solo-exhibition at Kunstraum incorporates an intricately painted stage/floor painting which, over the course of the exhibition, hosts a series of performance events from international dancers, musicians and artist, against a backdrop of Estna’s large-scale curtain painting and other new works.
On October 3, Kris Lemsalu's performance "In Heaven Everything Is Fine" featuring Glasser and four archangels will take place at KOKO, as part of DRAF's evening of performances and 10th anniversary party.
Marko Mäetamm will be presenting his solo exhibition ‘I’m only streaming’ at kim? Contemporary Art Centre in Riga. Mäetamm’s first solo show in Latvia combines a selection of recent works addressing social issues with domesticity-related works that were on view at the exhibition ‘Home and Away. Raymond Pettibon: Living the American Dream. Marko Mäetamm: Feel at Home’ at Kumu Art Museum in 2015.

Mikko Hintz is taking part of the group exhibition "Attempting Ideal" at Salon Dahlmann, Berlin.
"Attempting Ideal" is an exhibition hosted by Salon Dahlmann presenting the work of fifteen young Finnish artists from the Lipponen Collection. Borrowing its name from a video by Tiina Palmu, it features a selection of paintings, videos, photographs and graphic art. The show is designed around video works by three women artists. The bouncing balls in Palmu’s video carry on the legacy of 1970s conceptualism, while Iiu Susiraja’s Hamburger tells the story of a couple in a narrative laced with wicked black humour. Jenni Toikka’s "Atonemen"t is a minimalistic study of psychological tension filmed at the Paimio Sanatorium, an early masterpiece by the famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. The videos are accompanied by a selection of paintings and works on paper by emerging talent in Finnish contemporary art, including Ville Andersson, Alma Heikkilä, Hannaleena Heiska, Olli Piippo and Tiina Pyykkinen.

Since the late 1960s, Mare Vint’s minimalist landscapes with architectonic elements have focused on space and silence. Jaanus Samma’s new works are inspired by Mare Vint’s work.
